Pasta Salad:            

delicious, nutritious, and full of vegetables

 

Elbow macaroni

Diced onions

Diced (fresh) garlic

Diced apples (small, but not too small)

Tomatoes (small, but not too small) or grape tomatoes

Diced baby carrots

Italian dressing any kind, flavor to taste

Salt to taste

Peppercorn (freshly ground)

1 tsp sugar

Olives – black     (optional)

Shredded cheese

Egg whites diced

Celery

Bacon bits – real (optional)

Cucumbers

Shredded lettuce served under the salad (optional)

Diced green, yellow, orange peppers

Broccoli                (raw or slightly steamed)

Add chicken, lunch meat, or tuna (Optional)

 

Make a Fruit Smoothie!

Ingredients

2 cups of any fruit juice
5 to 6 ice cubes
1 tsp Vanilla
2/3 cup nonfat dry milk

Instructions

1.        Crush the ice in a blender.  (You can also wrap the ice in a clean cloth and crush it with a hammer or rolling pin)

2.       Add the ice, juice, vanilla, and milk powder to the ice in the blender or other container with a tight lid.

3.       Shake or blend well.

4.       Pour into glasses and serve right away.  Makes 4 servings.
